About J.C. Backings

J.C. Backings Corporation is a family owned business established in 1962. John H. Coakley and his son, John Gary Coakley, created the business when they recognized there was a need for quality custom painted backings and rental stock. The third generation, represented by Tod Coakley and Lynne M. Coakley, carried on this painted backing tradition and expanded into photographic backings a.k.a. Translites, as well as digital print backings. Sadly, in April 2006, Tod Coakley passed away in a tragic accident. Lynne Coakley is continuing to run the company maintaining its status as an innovative leader in the field of Motion Picture and Television backings. She is forging new paths for creating them utilizing state of the art digital technology. Pierre Steele, Lynne’s husband, has joined J.C. Backings bringing his digital expertise to the company as well as assuming Tod’s role as its professional photographer.
